WHO WE ARE | HISTORY, BIRTH AND CONSOLIDATION OF A DREAM
This project begins with a Galician emigrant couple who, like many others in the sixties, had to pack their bags and go in search of a better life. Servando and Sebastiana, first in Paris a few years and later on the French Atlantic coast, specifically in the tourist area of La Baule beach, where there were already those low-rise hotels surrounded by vegetation, without crowds and with beautiful beaches, such as those ours, but a worse climate than ours, and even so they managed to attract thousands of tourists.
A PROJECT THAT WORKS ON QUALITY AND ON CONSTANT GROWTH AND EVOLUTION TO OFFER UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES TO ITS CUSTOMERS
THE EARLY YEARS, A SMALL HOSTEL THAT WAS GROWING
At that time, in their native Reboredo (O Grove), their house was already taking shape. After several years in France and several winter seasons in Switzerland working in hotels, with the experience gained, upon returning, they decided to set up a small hostel with just 10 rooms, in the middle of nowhere, where to get there you had to come to purpose, where at that time it was still common to use a cow cart for the field and where there were hardly any services such as the telephone.
It was discovered in its beginnings by French tourists who were looking for something different, virgin beaches, away from all the hustle and bustle. Within a few years, it was expanded to about 25 rooms and shortly after to the current 34, always being a reference for foreign tourism in Galicia.
GASTRONOMY WAS ALWAYS ONE OF OUR SIGNS OF IDENTITY
And, in addition, we have always been a place highly appreciated for our cuisine. The use of products, especially from the garden, which were already known in Europe, but were still to be discovered here, also prompted them to cultivate their own garden which continues to this day. This, together with other types of European cuisine recipes, was forging recognition and a path that resulted in appearing in the Michelin guide in the 70s.
THE 90’S: WE CONTINUE TO BE ABLE FOR QUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
In 1991, the second of the buildings of the Bosque Mar Annex complex was built, becoming a hotel of a certain size, with rooms and apartments, well recognized and consolidated in the Galician hotel concert.
We were among the first to bet on quality. We have had the Q for Quality since 2000, being to date the oldest hotel in Galicia to achieve it, which was followed by another series of environmental recognitions.
A FAMILY HOTEL WITH A VERY CLEAR PHILOSOPHY THAT HAS NOT CHANGED SINCE ITS BEGINNINGS
The hotel has changed a lot since its inception, but it has never lost its essence as a close family hotel, always managed by the family, with the utmost respect for the environment and trying to provide the best possible service. Although with its founders already in their well-deserved retirement, the marked path of good work continues. In fact, they continue living next door and help in whatever way they can to stay close to this project that the next generation continues, that we have been at the forefront of this beautiful project for a few years now that continually seeks to evolve with the times and remain firm in its commitment to sustainability, the environment and the land in which we find ourselves.
