DISCOVER THE WINE TOURISM IN THE RIAS BAIXAS AND THE “WORLD OF ALBARIÑO”
Our area has many tourist attractions that go beyond the spectacular beaches and the natural environment that surrounds us. The world of wine and wine tourism in the Rías Baixas is making its way as one of the great tourist emblems and a perfect complement to the excellent gastronomy of Galicia in general and the Rías Baixas in particular. In the Rías Baixas we have our own identity seal, the wine, led by the internationally known Albariño wine, which is produced right here where we are.
The world of wine is very broad and interesting. What type of land is suitable for planting the vine, what are the care needed by the vineyards or how are the production processes, are doubts that you can solve by doing wine tourism in Las Rías Baixas and visiting any of the numerous Albariño wineries that there are in our surroundings.
To do this, we have prepared a guide with the towns and wineries that you must take into account when organizing your visits during your next vacation in Rías Baixas although at the hotel we can help you and advise you to book your visits, since, as we hotel, we are part of the Spanish Association of Wine Tourism.
CAMBADOS: THE “CAPITAL OF ALBARIÑO”
It is the reference town not only of the D.O. Rías Baixas but also of the Albariño wine. The wine culture is evident in every corner of this charming coastal town where its historic buildings, pazos, wineries and restaurants stand out.
In fact, Cambados is the wine tourism capital of the Rías Baixas and was the European Wine Capital in 2017. In addition, its Wine Festival, celebrated during the month of August, is the oldest wine festival in Galicia, the second oldest in Spain and is considered a Festival of National Tourist Interest. It also has a wine museum.
Therefore, if you want to know the essence of the D.O. Rías Baixas and visit Albariño wineries, Cambados is the main and ideal place to do it.
O GROVE & SANXENXO
The area where our hotel is located also has good vineyard extensions and several wineries for wine tourism in the Rías Baixas.
Especially in the Sanxenxo area, there are Albariño wineries that are worth knowing as Adega Eidos. From the hotel we can contract the visit with this winery and you can even book it on our website with the “Enotourism Experience” or by adding the visit as an extra to your stay.
O Grove and neighboring Sanxenxo are the most likely to host in terms of gastronomic offer, making it the perfect place to combine the gastronomy of the estuary with the exquisite Albariño wine.
RIBADUMIA & BARRANTES
Also located very close to Cambados, these two inland towns are less touristy, but at the same time they are next to the main tourist towns of Galicia.
In your enotourism route in the Rías Baixas you can also include these two places, either to visit an Albariño winery or simply to make a visit and see its vineyard extensions and its natural environment.
